GHOSTWATCH: THE NIGHT THAT TERRIFIED BRITAIN

DIRECTOR (SELF-SHOOTING), 1 × 90’

A feature length doc about controversial 1992 BBC drama Ghostwatch, a show that was presented as a real life investigation into a haunting with presenters playing themselves (Michael Parkinson, Sarah Greene, Mike Smith, Craig Charles). It was believed by viewers - including many terrified children - to be real, resulting in thousands of complaints and national outrage. My film told the story of this extraordinary night in British broadcasting from the perspective of those who saw it as children, as well as the makers and stars. We also examined the ensuing controversy with access to unseen files and analysis of the press coverage.

Non-studio master interviews and actuality self-shot. DoPs for contributors in studio watching show back on 90s TV sets, and the recon.
